KOSS Saudi Chapter celebrated the "Onam 2009" with grand feasts and cultural extravaganzas.
The event presided by Mr. John Mathew Keeppallil, President of KOSS Saudi Chapter.
And in his inaugural speech, Mr. John Mathew emphasized the importance of Onam celebration taking account into the generation gap and that in future, we are going to continue our traditions of Onam celebrations so that our young generation would know about their rich cultural heritage.
Mr.Babu Panamthundil, Mr.Thankachan John Keeppallil and Mr.Rajan Chamattum were emceed the event shared the story of Onam and delivered messages.
Nearly 75 people, from Kudassanad, Poozhickad, Ulavookad and Thandanuvila , attended the event. The cultural extravaganza was in many ways “reliving the culture and traditions” and a “cherishing the past with a view to pass it on to the future generation.”
Meanwhile, we have managed to raise Rs 45,000.00 and vowed to give Rs 25,000.00 for Mr. Babu Chammattathu Vadakkethil, Poozhickad, who met with an accident and remain still unconscious in the hospital.
The balance Rs 20,000.00 will be paid to other person in Poozhickad who is in need of Shelter.
While , we have pledged to continue our contribution for the needy people.
General Convener Mr. Babu Panamthundil stressed the need for attending the "Global Meet 2011" and unanimously we have selected Mr.Thomas Geroge (Shaji Ramanattu) to represent KOSS Saudi Chapter.
The event ended with National anthem.

KOSS ADMIN is Planning to arrange
1. Grand FAMILY GET TOGETHER on 3rd Sept 2009, ( Avittom ) and celebrate the 'ONAM' .
2. Celebrates the *KOSS TRUST* Formation, Introduction of the TRUST By Laws.. Confirms the Office Bearers as per the Bylaw.
3.Charity. Distribution of 2 Houses to the deserved , also other Charity works, subject to availability of Funds& approval by ADMIN.
Venue : Souparnika Auditorium, Kudassanad. (Our Patron Shri.Satyadevan has graciously allotted this venue free of Charge. )
Time : 09.00 AM. to 3.00 PM
Programme:
Reception to "Maveli Thamburan".
A procession shall be arranged in a mobile 'Radhtam', Accompanied by Kaduva kali troupe, Chenda Melam etc.. and shall pass through all the corners of Kudassanad, reaches the venue and receives by the Chief Guest. Followed by' Nadan Kalikal'. Pookkalom , Thiruvathira Kali, Dance, Kaikottikali, Mimikri , Music,Katha Prassangom etc.any 4 Items to be finalized according to availability.Followed by a *Grand Onam Sadhya *, home made foods at the venue.
Participants : All KOSS members on Vacation/ holidays. All close Family Members of KOSS Members. Parents, Grand Parents, Wife Children etc. All KOSS Local Committee Members and their Family, Chief Guests , Prominent members of Kudassanad,School authorities, Panchayat authorities, Post Office, Bank Managers/representatives etc....to be proposed by KLCC . Expected 300 to 400 members
