Jacob Kuruvila (Achenkunju) was born in Kudassanad to Chacko Kuruvila and Aleyamma Chacko on June 1, 1963. After completing his degree he immigrated to the United States in 1985 and settled in Houston Texas with his brother Kuruvila Varughese.
Even though Houston can not replant Kudassanad in his heart. It is where his home is now with my family. His wife and he have been blessed with three daughters Sarah, Rachel and Hannah.
He has been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve in many organizations in many capacities:
- World Malayalee Council Houston Province Secretary 1997
- World Malayalee Council America Region Associate Secretary 1998-1999 (Served as one of the coordinators for the Global conference in Dallas, Texas USA)
- Malayalee Association of Greater Houston General Secretary 2000 (Local Malayalee Association with more than 1000 members)
- World Malayalee Regional Vice President (America Region) 2001 (Started several provinces all around USA)
- World Malayalee Council President Houston Province 2004-2006 (did several humanitarian projects in India and US.
- World Malyalee Council Houston Province Chairman Present.
- Divine Charities Director Board member.
He improved relationship with media and organized mega competition with Asianet which was enjoyed all around the world. His efforts resulted in opening a fully air conditioned new home nursery in Government Hospital Ranni which is a blessing for several poor people in this area.) Divine Charities provided 28 lakh rupees for the first year and 32 lakh rupees for the second year which was distributed to several orphanages all around Kerala.
